Announcing — Homecoming 2008

September 28, 2008 in Blog Articles, News & Announcements

GLORY! Glory be to God. Another homecoming will soon be here. We have gone through another year and seen God’s faithfulness displayed in our lives as individuals and as a congregation. We’re just real people dealing with real life, but serving a real God! We are experiencing the prescence of God, new faces in our services, and a sense of excitement and expectation or much more to come. We want to thank God for what he has done, is doing, and is yet going to do. We invite each of you to come and celebrate with us for the great things our God has done, and just the greatness of our God.

What? The annual Christway Homecoming service and celebration.

Where? Christway worship facilities in Adamsville, AL

When? Sunday October 19, 2008 at regular services time (10 & 11 am)on into the afternoon.

Who? Gospel Singing group “A Brand New Day” from near Tuscaloosa, AL will be our guest singing ministers.

Why? For great word, food, fellowship, and worship!

You don’t want to miss it! A good time is to be had by all. Joyful worship, heartfelt singing, soul stirring preaching, with delicious food and robust fellowship to follow. Once eveyone had had a chance to “eat and greet” we will reconvene in the sanctuary for our gospel singing.

So come one, and come all. Invite your friends and neighbors. Bring the kids.

Just come - come expecting - come and receive!

Please note that the evening service will be foregone to give way for the events mentioned above.

Homecoming was a success! Good word, Good food, Good singing, & Good fellowship! It was our first service in the new (for us) church house.

A Brand New Day was our guest singing group again this year. They did a wonderful job despite some set backs. I recommend them both for spiritual soundness and voice quality. Our prayers are with the ministry’s leaders as they embark on an interim pastorate near Tuscaloosa.

We were unable to get a total head count. People were coming and going at different intervals all through the service that day. However, we are confident that enough people came to at least fill the pew capacity from 90-100%. So I think we can safely say we had 80 or more (probably more) visit us for homecoming this year. For a small church, a few years old, in a church saturated environment, I think that’s pretty good!

Thanks to everyone for anything and everything you did to help contribute to this year’s homecoming event.

Blessings!
